Salvatore Rossini's career begins in Latina Volley, in 2003, playing in the team that competes in the D Series championship; in the 2005-06 season he was hired by Virtus Aversa in B1 Series, while in the following season he played for CUS Catania, always in the same category.

In the 2008-09 season he wore the Argos Volley shirt in Sora, in B2 Series, with which he remained for two seasons, also obtaining a promotion in B1 Series; after a year in Cortona Volley, in the 2010-11 season he made his debut in professional volleyball, thanks to being purchased by Città di Castello Volleyball Team. For the 2011-12 championship he competes his first A1 Series tournament with Gabeca Volleyball in Monza: in the summer of 2012 he also gets the first national calls. In the 2012-13 season he returns again to the Latina company, while with the national team, in 2013 he won the bronze medal at the World League, also repeated in the 2014 edition, and the Grand Champions Cup.

In the 2014-15 season he was hired by Modena Volley, with whom he won two Italian Cups, two Italian Supercups and the 2015-16 championship; in 2015 with the national team, he won the silver at the World Cup and bronze at the European championship, while in 2016 the silver at the Games of the XXXI Olympics.
