Holt's career began in 2006 when he joined the university team of Pennsylvania State University, with which in 2008 he won the NCAA division I, the highest university championship in men’s volleyball in the United States. A year later he made his debut in the US national team taking part in the Panamericana, a competition won by the USA, thanks to the contribution of Holt, who shows off by participating in all the matches of the event. Still the same year he left the United States and landed in Italy, at Blue Volley Verona, where he remained a year and then moved to Piacenza where he played for 3 seasons winning the 2012/2013 Challenge Cup. He continues to collect presences in the national team, where in 2013 he became a first team player and took part in the FIVB Grand Champions Cup where he won the best tournament central prize. In 2014 he won the World League gold medal and the following year he won the world Cup in Japan. In the winter of the same year he left Piacenza and Italy to go to Dinamo Moscow, where he won a CEV Cup in 2015 over 3 seasons; after the Russian parenthesis, from summer of 2016 he wears the shirt of Modena Volley with which in 2016 he won his first Italian trophy, the Italian Super Cup conquered by beating Perugia in the final.
