The career of Tine Urnaut, son of volleyball player of the Yugoslavian national team and coach Adolf Urnaut and half-brother of volleyball players Andrej and Matjaz, begins in 2006 when he makes his debut in the Slovenian league with Odbojkarski Klub ACH Volley, where he stays for two seasons, winning two championships, two Slovenian Cups, two MEVZA championships and a European affirmation, the 2006/07 Top Teams Cup. In the same years he also obtained the first call-ups in the Slovenian national team. In the 2008/09 season he went to the Greek Olympiakos team where he won both the championship and the national cup. The following season he moved to Italy, hired by the Volleyball Piacenza, a club with which he won the Italian Super Cup. In the 2010-11 season he was bought by ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, a team competing in the Polish league; in 2011 he won his first medal with the national team, that is, the bronze at the European League. In the 2011/12 season he was hired by Umbria Volley di San Giustino, in the Italian A1 Series, while the following season he moved to Callipo Sport Vibo Valentia. In the 2013/14 championship he goes to play in Turkish Voleybolun 1.Ligi with Arkas Spor Kulübü, before returning to the Italian A1 Series for the 2014-15 championship, with Latina's Top Volley; in 2015 with the national team he won the gold medal at the European League and the silver medal at the European championship. Also in the 2015/16 season he remains in the same division, however, wearing the Trentino Volley shirt in Trento; at the end of the year he went to Qatar, where he took part in the Emir's Cup with the Al-Rayyan Sports Club. In the following season he returned to the Trentino club, before moving to Modena for the 2017/18 championship, still in Serie A1 .
